About every 2 years the Davis Police Department and the Davis Senior High School present a demonstration on the effects of drunk driving. This includes "victims" of drunk drivers being removed from class every 15 minutes and when they return to class they are not allowed to interact with any other students except those that were also removed. They are known as the "dead" and this is to simulate the fact that one person is killed every 15 minutes in a drunk driving accident. This years events began on thursday april 18 with a simulated drunk driving accident staged on Oak ave next to Davis High School and continued throughout the day with the "dead" students being removed from class every 15 minutes and ended the next day with an assembly on the effects of driving under the influence.
